Our hotel was the elegant Hotel Metropole Suisse in the city of Como on the shores of the lake where we enjoyed the breathtakingly stunning views of Lake Como and the Alps.
Lake Como is one of the most beautiful places in Europe and is described by the revered Condé Nast Traveller as a little piece of heaven on Earth! During the trip we enjoyed the local area whilst playing golf at some of Italy’s finest courses including Villa d’Este, the number one course in Italy.
Most of the group took advantage of our free day to visit Bellagio, known as the pearl of Lake Como. We took a boat from Como to Bellagio and were able to fully appreciate the beauty of the lake and the towns situated on it.

We played a round at each of the following four courses. The stunning Villa d’Este GC, the number one course in Italy and a must play. Monticello GC, host to the Italian Open on seven occasions. Menaggio and Cadenabbia, the second oldest course in Italy featuring stunning views of Lake Como and the Alps and finally La Pinetina, ranked in the 50 in Italy. Como did not disappoint on the food front! Ristorante Imbarcadero at our hotel, Ristorante Funicolare and Anticariva which were a 5 minute walk from the hotel all provided lots of variety and a great chance to sample authentic Italian cuisine.
The pick of the restaurants was La Punta in Bellagio. It was situated on the shores of the lake. The food, service and the views made for an unforgettable day…this is a must visit restaurant!
