Cape Town + The Garden Route

20th February - 5th March 2026

The Southern Hemisphere is the place to be in February and the stunning location for this trip will be Cape Town and the Garden Route. South Africa has everything that golfers look for….first class courses and lots of hot sun whilst staying in some of the best hotels in the world! We’ll also have the opportunity to sample the amazing food and wine that this part of the world is renowned for.

This trip will start in Cape Town with a four night stay at the Vineyard Hotel. Whilst in Cape Town we will play at Steenberg and Clovelly golf clubs – both ranked in the top 40 courses in SA. On one of our free days we will go on a Cape Peninsula tour giving us the best experience of Cape Town and the local area.
 
The group will then spend two nights at Arabella Hotel, Golf and Spa which has been voted Africa’s #1 spa resort on numerous occasions. We will play two rounds at Arabella GC – rank #5 in SA. We will also visit Creation Wines in Hermanus for a wine tasting experience 
 
Our final transfer will be along the Garden Route to Fancourt Luxury Hotel + Resort – #1 golf resort in SA! The final five nights of the trip will be at this world class hotel and we will play four rounds, three will be on the courses at the resort – Montagu, Outeniqua and Fancourt Links, all in the top 20 in SA with The Links at number one! The 4th round will be at Pinnacle Point, twice voted Africa’s best golf course and described as Africa’s Pebble Beach!

Cultural Experience

Cape Town and the Garden Route offer so much to enjoy away from the golf course. The group will travel on a Cape Peninsula Tour which will enable them to visit all of the most notable sights in the local area including Camps Bay beach, Hout Bay and the penguins of Boulders Beach. We will have lunch at Two Oceans restaurant located at the Cape of Good Hope.

Creation Wines is located near to Hermanus along the Garden Route and has won numerous awards for excellence including 3rd place in the World’s best vineyards 2024, 2024 V d’Or award for best brand experience and is recognised as an industry leader in wine tourism.

Michael O'Connor

Michael has had an illustrious playing career as an amateur and a professional including winning the Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire Assistant Professional’s Championship and the prestigious Sunningdale Foursomes with Luke Donald, at the time they were the youngest winners in the history of the event.

In 2003 Michael qualified as a PGA Professional. Always a keen student of the game he turned his attention to coaching and enjoys helping his pupils of all ages and abilities reach their full potential. To this end he has acquired many coaching qualifications including Trackman Professional Level 2 certification, NLP Practitioner for Sport, TimeLine and Hypnosis therapy and Explanar swing trainer coach. He is also currently studying the benefits of Pilates for golfers.

He runs a thriving junior academy at The Lambourne Club where he teaches over 100 children every week including pupils from 4 local schools.

Michael has a passion for travelling and has combined this with his desire to coach by forming his travel business. Over the last 15 years he has taken his pupils to many of the premier golf clubs and hotels in the world and given them some experiences that they will remember forever!

He has a broad knowledge of all things golf and completed the PGA’s certificate of golf management in record time and was also a member of the PGA’s rules committee having achieved the highest ever score in their entrance exam.

Finally he’s a good man to have on a trip as he speaks French, Spanish and Italian and even knows a few words in Arabic and Swedish!
