Greece

2023 | 2024

Costa Navarino in the Messinia region of Greece is worthy of its ranking as the number one golf resort in Europe. We took two groups there in May 2023 and everyone thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of the trips.

Find out more about the trip

Greece was a new destination for us and although not renowned for golf, Costa Navarino delivered in every respect! It’s now a favourite for many of our frequent travellers!

There are four courses, a choice of four hotels and the best practice facilities we have ever used…a perfect destination for a coaching trip!

The local waterside towns of Pylos and Gialova are lovely places to visit. The delicious local cuisine and large choice of restaurants combined with the world renowned Greek hospitality ensured that our evening meals were a great experience.

Costa Navarino Bay is also a site of huge historical importance to Greece as the site of the Battle of Navarino in 1827 which turned the tide for Greek independence.

Accommodation

We stayed at the 5* Westin hotel which featured modern, spacious rooms with excellent amenities. The hotel is located next to the beach where you can find a lovely restaurant and a small bar for a sundowner whilst looking out over the bay!

The Golf Courses

We played the four courses at Costa Navarino – Bay, Dunes, Hills and Olympic Academy. Fast, slopey greens and stunning views of the bay are a feature of all of the courses. The Dunes course is located on the same site as the Westin and Romanos hotels and the other three courses are a 15-20 minutes transfer.

Restaurants

The groups were spoilt for choice! We visited four restaurants on-site at the hotel – Morias (themed buffet), Daluigi (Italian), Kooc (local Messinian)  and Flame (steak).

Offsite we visited Kochili and Elia in Gialova and Poseidonia in Pylos….the local sea bass was a firm favourite with the group!
