The Southern Hemisphere is the place to be in February and the stunning location for this trip was Cape Town and the Garden Route. South Africa has everything that golfers look for….first class courses and lots of hot sun whilst staying in some of the best hotels in the world! We also had the opportunity to sample the amazing food and wine that this part of the world is renowned for.

We started in Cape Town with a four night stay at the Vineyard Hotel. Whilst in Cape Town we played at Steenberg and Clovelly golf clubs – both ranked in the top 40 courses in SA. On one of our free days we did a Cape Peninsula tour giving us the best experience of Cape Town and the local area.

The group then spent two nights at Arabella Hotel, Golf and Spa which has been voted Africa’s #1 spa resort on numerous occasions. We played two rounds at Arabella GC – rank #5 in SA. We also visited Creation Wines in Hermanus for a wine tasting experience

We travelled along the Garden Route to Fancourt Luxury Hotel + Resort – #1 golf resort in SA! We spent our final six nights of the trip at this world class hotel and we played four rounds, three on the courses at the resort – Montagu, Outeniqua and Fancourt Links, all in the top 20 in SA with The Links at number one! The 4th round was at Pinnacle Point, twice voted Africa’s best golf course and described as Africa’s Pebble Beach!

Cultural Experience

Cape Town and the Garden Route offer so much to enjoy away from the golf course. The group enjoyed a Cape Peninsula Tour to all of the most notable sights in the local area including Camps Bay beach, Hout Bay and the penguins of Boulders Beach. We had lunch at Two Oceans restaurant located at the Cape of Good Hope.

Creation Wines was an amazing wine tasting experience. Creation Wines is located near to Hermanus along the Garden Route and has won numerous awards for excellence including 3rd place in the World’s best vineyards 2024, 2024 V d’Or award for best brand experience and is recognised as an industry leader in wine tourism.
